Faculty180 – Fun Sized! Tip #6 – Committees
Committee work is an important activity that is entered by faculty in Faculty180. There are various types of committees and membership capacities that can be entered. Here is a list of potential committee work for which you might participate, with more information and the category in which it should be entered:
- Institutional Committee – Examples of this type of committee include unit Personnel Committee, Tenure Committee, Curriculum Committee, and Faculty Senate Committee. There is an activity section titled Institutional Committees with a pre-defined list of institutional committees where you enter this work.
- UNC System Committee – Participation in a committee at the UNC System level is entered in the Other Institutional Service category. There is a service type specifically listed for this type of work.
- Professional Committee – Participation in a non-ECU or non-UNC System committee that is related to your profession or discipline can be entered in the Professional Service category. An example of this type of committee would be participating in a conference planning committee for a professional association.
- Community Committee – Committee work for a community service organization, but unrelated to your profession, can be entered in the Community Service category.
The tutorial below will guide you through entering committee work in Faculty180, with an emphasis on how to enter an Institutional Committee record.
